Our Story
Sleep Group is the largest integrated comfort and materials manufacturing group in Southern Africa. With over four decades of expertise, state-of-the-art facilities, and leading brands such as Restonic, Genessi, Mova Motion, and DesleeMattex, Sleep Group delivers the innovation, scale, and reliability that drive business performance across Southern Africa.
Our story began in 1939 with humble beginnings. What started as Metz Furniture grew steadily, guided by passion, entrepreneurship, and a vision for a better night’s rest. By the early 1990s, Restonic was introduced to South Africa, building the brand one partnership at a time. From those modest roots, Restonic became one of the country’s most trusted names in sleep. In 2015, Restonic joined KAP Limited, which led to the formation of Sleep Group, bringing together expertise across foam, textiles, and mattress manufacturing.
